"YOUTH"

At the Bluefield Church of God our younger members are not just our future, as so many are fond of saying, they are our present. Ministering to and through the young people of the two Virginias is an essential part of who we are and why we are here.

Here are just a few of our youth ministries and activities.

Dunamis Student Ministries

Dunamis Student Ministries is the name our youth group goes by. They came together as a group in 2004 but have since developed into a family. They formed a band and a drama group; they go on trips together and they grow.

As one member said, “When you bring yourselves together with other Christians, you grow. We not only grow in our family and our relationships, but we also grow in Christ.”

Church of Youth Camp

The Church of God Youth Camp is a week-long, age specific experience held each summer at the Church of God Virginia State Campground in Roanoke, Virginia. It gives young people a chance to make new friends and grow closer to the Lord. Participants are assigned to cabins and are overseen by cabin leaders. There are fun and games each day and worship services each evening.

Winterfest

Winterfest began in the early 1980’s with a couple of youth groups traveling to the Smoky Mountains for a weekend of concentrated discipleship. Now, over 50,000 students and leaders gather for a weekend at various locations around the world seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. These gatherings are characterized by outstanding speakers, authentic worship, lots of fun, and life-changing experiences.

It is built around three facets: (1) Worship – providing engaging and authentic worship in a non-threatening atmosphere; (2) Challenge – challenging a generation with the anointed Word of God delivered by some of America’s leading communicators; and (3) Change – calling for a life-change in every student who attends.

Community Enhancement Program

Each fall we provide school supplies (paper, pencils, pens, notebooks, etc.) and a youth crusade for local children to help promote a positive attitude as they return to school.
